Okafor leaves practice due to injury

During indoor practice on Wednesday, Alex Okafor, defensive end suddenly went down. The members of the training staff quickly took care of him. However, he managed to stand up and leave the field by himself.

Currently, no one knows the real extent of his trauma, although it’s quite notable given the player is trying to recover from a torn Achilles he got last year.

Before the season-ending trauma, the 6-foot-4, 261-pound player was actually enjoying a firm campaign with the Saints, including up to 43 tackles, a pair of forced fumbles and 4 1/2 sacks.

Initially signed with the Saints last year on a one-year contract, during the offseason the player re-signed. With the player on the mend during the offseason, the squad actually added more firepower to the pass rush through this year’s NFL Draft by simply trading up to pick up defensive end Marcus Davenport in the first round.

By the way, having missed recent practices because of a trauma, Davenport got back on Wednesday, although he didn’t take part in team drills.
